Small/Young Black Bear

1. Appear to be "all legs".
2. Approach bait nervously, frequently looking over sholder or turning around.
3. More streamlined, pointed head.
4. Ears look larger and closer together.
5. Neck appears longer and thinner.

Large/Adult Male Black Bear

1. Stocky legs.
2. Massive body with belly that hangs closer to ground.
3. Approach bait with more confidence.
4. Slower, more deliberate movements.
5. Large, rounded head (like basketball).
6. Ears look smaller.
7. Thicker neck.
